A model of transduction in the frog muscle spindle.

چکیده
Introduction It has been known that a receptor potential may occur at the non-myelinated terminals in the frog muscle spindle and the receptor currents may be integrated in a Ranvier node of the myelinated branches at which afferent impulses may initiate. i) The hypothesis that the receptor potential may be caused by an inward flow of sodium ions) is supported by recent works on mammalian muscle spindles) and crustacean stretch receptors. 4 )

Background and Purpose: Basically, The muscle spindle is innervated by γ – fibers, γ – fibers are divided into phasic and tonic groups on the basis of their function. Ït is believed that phasic one γ innervate all the muscle spindle fibers where as tonic one innervate only tonic muscle spindle fibers and phasic of type two. The purpose of this study was to observe the fiber activity during ph...

1. Controversy on Spindle potential Katz l ) has recorded a slow depolarizing potential from the sensory nerve terminal of the frog IVth toe muscle during stretch, and has termed this the 'spindle potential'. Since the amplitude of the spindle potential changed almost in parallel with the muscle tension 1) and also with the rate of afferent discharges,2,3) the spindle potential was considered t...
متن کاملThe effect of pinna reflex and dynamic stretch on spike discharge of single ?-axons and spindle afferents in caudal muscle spindles in rat
The ?-axons supplying muscle spindle (MS) induce a particular pattern of activity in spindle Ia and II afferents on contraction. From a dynamic viewpoint, the Ia shows increasing spike rates, but II-afferents do not show any activity. For evaluation of nerve fiber activity, spike amplitude (SA) is suggested to measure it as well as its benefit of diagnosing clinical symptoms. This paper aims to...

Introduction: The rapid development of wireless telecommunication technologies over the past decades, has led to significant changes in the exposure of the general public to electromagnetic fields. Nowadays, people are continuously exposed to different sources of electromagnetic fields such as mobile phones, mobile base stations, cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers, and power lines. Therefore, th...
